ContraCommon SUMMER ARTS FESTIVAL – June 5

ContraCommon SUMMER ARTS FESTIVAL – June 5

Fleming & Cazalas is thrilled to be part of Contracommon's First Annual Summer Arts Festival! The event will be held on Saturday, June 5th from 3-8pm on the Hill Country Galleria’s Central Plaza, and will host 30+ artist vendors, free children’s art activities, and live music performances on the Hill Country Galleria stage.

Bee Cave has recently been recognized as an up-and-coming arts destination and cultural hub! This festival will host over 30 local artists and makers, including Hill Country Galleria tenants like Contracommon, The Bee Cave Arts Foundation’s The Hive, and Flip ‘n’ Art by Chacasso. We are excited to offer free children’s art activities with The Hive and The Art Garage, live local music performances sponsored by Vista Brewing, and a variety of handmade art and goods - expect to find paintings, illustration, sculpture, decor, fashion, apothecary and lifestyle goods, sweets and treats, and more among the festival offerings.

Contracommon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that focuses on supporting emerging artists in a collaborative setting. Established by a group of artists across multiple disciplines, we believe in providing artists the opportunity to present their work to the world without the obstacles of a traditional studio/gallery arrangement. Contracommon is located within the Hill Country Galleria, with facilities including a dedicated 1200 sq. foot gallery space, 16 private artist studios, woodshop facilities, a dark room, a large communal space for hosting workshops and events, an office, onsite laundry, and a kitchen. In addition to offering resident artists affordable private studios and amenities, we provide opportunities for growth that allow local artists to explore various areas of professional practices related to the visual arts, including but not limited to biweekly critique groups, curatorial practices, skillshare demos, and collaborative interviews. Our dedicated gallery space and year-round programming schedule gives local, regional, and national artists opportunities to collaborate and exhibit with others and to strengthen their own practices.
